The $226 million expansion, which will include multiple dining venues and space dedicated for concerts showcasing A-list performers, marks the revival of a project that had been conceived a decade ago but was sidelined by the deep recession of 2008. It is expected to be completed by 2019.

As part of the expansion, the casino floor will grow to accommodate a total of 2,800 machines from the current 2,000, plus 38 more gaming tables.

The new hotel tower, which will feature a contemporary facade of stone, glass and wood, will set aside 50 of its 300 rooms for larger luxury suites, ranging from 376 square feet to 1,150. Also planned is an 8,451-square-foot spa and fitness center and an event center that will include an 11,000-square-foot ballroom designed for a concert-seating capacity of 1,200.
